Waite is my name!

Ok 38 weeks has passed, and I am dying here! For all the scares and dr visits and everyone predicting that she was going to be early and have to stay in the NICU for awhile, all I have to say is BOOYAH!!! My goal was Thanksgiving, and I have made it! As of last Thursday she was a little chunk (7+lbs) with a big head and big abdomen. I am so glad that she has made it this far and is still growing and getting fatter by the day, but I dont want to give birth to a 10lb kid (no offense Brooke). So I have cleaned my house from top to bottom, I have put up all of my Christmas decorations, (so I didn't have to try to do it with a new baby), I have a chest freezer stocked full of frozen dinners I have been making, and all of our hospital stuff is in the car and ready to go. I know Waite is my maiden name and all, but I am so sick of waiting! I am so ready to meet this little girl and welcome her into our family! I have tried the cleaning and walking to try to get her to come, didn't work, I have been rocking on a birthing ball, hasn't worked so far, I dont know what to do next. I know everyone says just let her come on her own, but I have to get her out by next Tuesday! My midwife has scheduled an induction for me on the 30th at 6am and that is the last thing I want to happen! I am just hoping and praying she comes on her own this week. If all of the food on Thursday does not help push her out, I am going to have to do a little Black Friday shopping to see if the walking can help work her little body out.
Well I sure hope that my next post will be pictures and an update of our little baby girl! Till then, Happy Thanksgiving Y'all!!

Yup its pretty much impossible to look decent this late in the pregnancy, so I gave up.

Man I'm huge!

Just a little EXCITED!!!

I have been on a little online shopping spree, since I cannot go to any stores to find good deals, and I have found some adorable outfits for our little Estella and I cannot wait to start playing dress up! At our last appointment last Monday, I have gained only 15lbs since getting pregnant, and Stella weighed in at 5lbs 1oz and still growing!! She is doing great and labor has not progressed in 2 weeks!! So I am still hoping to get another 2+ weeks out of her before she can come. I am hoping for a 8lb little girl, so she needs to stay cookin for a little bit longer. But with all of my packages that are showing up at my door step every day or so is getting me so excited for her to come. I know I will regret saying that once she gets here and I wont be getting much sleep, but bed rest is getting old. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind laying around all day and being lazy, but I only get to be outside when I walk to my car to go to my appointments (because I am not suppose to be going down or up any stairs). It is the perfect time of year to be outside enjoying the fall weather and seeing all of the amazing colors, but I just get to watch my one tree in my back yard change from green, to brown. How unexciting!
I have all our bags packed and have got all of the hospital paper work filled out and turned in, so we are on the home stretch!! I am surprised that I have made it this far, but am determined to make it another 2 or more weeks!! My midwife said after 36 weeks I do not have to be on bed rest any more, so that means 8 days and counting!!! I dont want to have her that early, but it will be nice to be able to run to the grocery store if needed or make dinner or even just park my chair outside and watch my rabbit and dog play while I enjoy the weather, or maybe prep my garden for the winter, or clean my house, vacuum my nasty carpets, finish cleaning out my basement, or ... man there is so much to do and not enough time!
Just one last thing before I show you my huge belly, after Stella gets here I would like to make my blog private, so if you would like to view it, send me your email addresses and I will put you on the list.
So here it is (dont mind the ugliness!) .... 35 weeks ...

Nursery

My mom flew out here two weeks ago and busted her butt on my house as well as helping my sister with hers for the entire time she was out here. I felt bad that she was so busy running back and forth but I am so greatful that she as able to come spend some time with me and help me get my house all situated before Stella gets here. It turned out amazing and it is so nice to have a functional house now, instead of sheets and blankets thumb tacked in the windows and having to go downstairs to get food just to bring it up and make dinner, and having pictures on the walls instead of plain jane walls. It turned out fantastic, but my favorite is the nursery. I cannot wait till Estella gets here so she can start using it. It was a little masculine at first, but once we added the bedding and other little pink items, it turned out to be so girly and adorable! Here are a few pictures of the nursery...

My mom, the Martha she is, back in May when she was out here, painted and reupholstered my glider rocker that has been in storage the past 2 years. It turned out fantastic and matches the rest of the furniture perfectly! She also used the skirt that came with the bedding and made the valance for the window out of it. It turned out so cute!

Here is the crib and bedding. After dealing with all of the drama of the recalled cribs, we just ended up buying a new one and I think it turned out to match the rest of the furniture perfectly!

Here is the quilt that goes with the bedding. Its so cute and girly!!

Here is the bumper pads and crib close up. You cannot really see the detail, but there are little birds, leaves and flowers all on the outside of the bumper pads that match the quilt. We decided to use this crib skirt instead of the striped ones. I think it turned out so adorable with the little tutu skirt.

We decided to take off the closet doors and open it up to put the dresser. It turned out perfect and is so nice to have the extra storage! My Martha mother also made this valance out of the other half of the crib skirt.

Here is the other side of the room with the armoire and swing. Isn't the valance and curtains so fantastic??

Here is the best part of the room....

The chandelier!!! It turned out so perfect and adds just the perfect touch to the room.

For $35 I think I got a killer deal for such an adorable accent.

Close up of the chandelier.

The room turned out so adorable. Thank you so much mom for all of your help while you were out here!! I cannot wait till she gets here and we can get some use out of this adorable room!! I hope Stella loves it!?

I also wanted to show off more of my mom's amazing talents. While she was here for 2 weeks she made these shades to cover my windows in the kitchen. I had some plantain shudders that covered about 3/4ths of the window, but these look so much better!!

Here are the roman shades. The fabric turned out to match the rest of the kitchen perfectly!! Especially with my cute new table!

Here is a close up of it down.

Here they are both up. They turned out so fantastic!!

Here is a close up of them up.

I just have to say my mom is amazing!! I hate living so far apart, but it is so nice when I get to see her. Next time I see her, she will be flying out to meet baby Estella!!

I hope the next 6+ weeks flies by fast! I cannot wait to meet her!

Baby makin is hard work!

Well it has been awhile since I have posted anything, so I just thought I would post a little update. I am now 31 weeks along and working on my 2nd week of bed rest. I went into my check up (which has been once a week since I was 16 weeks), 2 weeks ago and found out that I was already dilated to a 2+ at only 29 weeks. That terrified me. I am far from being ready for her to be here. Her crib is not even assembled yet! So I was put on bed rest for the remainder of my pregnancy. At my 30 week appointment, my cervix had almost doubled in length from the previous week. So bed rest must be doing some kind of good.
I am not going to lie, I was dreading bed rest. I thought that I would go crazy just laying around all day long. But it has not been too bad so far. I know it has only been 2 weeks, and I have quite a few more to go, but it is nice to lay around and be lazy all day, since I know I wont get much sleep or rest once she is here. So I am soaking it up while I can!
Both my perinatologist and midwife both said that they dont think that I would make it past 35-36 weeks. So I am just hoping that she stays in there as long as possible so that she does not have to be put in NICU. I am trying to prepare myself for that, but I know it is pretty much inevitable with already being dilated. I know it is going to be probably the hardest thing I have ever had to go through to not be able to bring my baby home with me. I am hoping for the best, but want to try to be prepared for what ever is to come. With only a few weeks away from being 35 weeks, I am going to do all that I possibly can to keep her in there for as long as possible. So until then, I am loving every moment of bed rest!

OBX 2010

After many prayers and several Dr appointments in one week and a fetal fibronectin test my perinatologist and midwife gave me the ok to go on my beach vacation with my family! I was terrified that the test would come back positive and I would miss out on the vacation I have been counting down for the last 100+ days!
The Waite family goes to the Outer Banks in North Carolina every other year. It is one of the best vacations ever! My parents rent a 6+ bedroom house on the island just a walk away from the beach! Kristin, Drew and I took a red eye flight out late Friday night and landed in Richmond at 10am. My parents picked us up on their way down to the beach! After sleeping the entire 3 hour ride and getting settled into the house Brooke, Zack and the boys showed up and the party began! Sunday morning came bright and early (6am) with the Corbin and Kyler splashing and screaming in the pool in the back yard. This is just about how every morning began in that house. But who cares when you have adorable little nephew's to wake up to every morning. Whether it is the high pitched girly scream from Kyler or the motorcycles and 4 wheelers being rolled on the wood floors and crashing there seemed to never be a quiet moment in the house during daylight hours. The house was pretty nasty with stains on all the carpets, dead bugs squished on all of the walls, bugs stuck in the cobwebs hanging above the beds, oh the list is long. But the weather and beach was perfect almost every single day! Wednesday was a little stormy and the red flag was up (which means no swimming in the ocean) but we still made a day out of it. Here are a few pictures from an amazing week with my family...

Brooke and Corbin building sand castles

and Corbin destroying it

Kyler passed out in "Gamma" arms

We finally got to see the wild horses on the island

Cute little filly right off the road

Another set of wild horses we saw

Their little filly grazing. So cute!

There was some nice curl on the waves for a couple days

Zack, Corbin and Kyler playing in the sand. Poor Kyler could not keep the sand in his eyes

Kyler with a sand beard. I dont know how he did this, but it sure looks like he was eating it

Drew passed out after boogie boarding for about 3 hours straight

Brooke and Kyler after their one of many trips to wash off all the sand

Corbin collecting shells

Zack taking Corbin boogie boarding for the first time

Corbin riding his first wave

I am pretty sure he loved it!

Pretty big belly but Stella had to get some sun too!

The family photo we took the first night (notice how white we are) for Elder Waite.

One of the many friends we had in and around the house! Brings back some memories of Florida!

Vacation's are always amazing, but they always come to an end... unfortunately! Well until next time!

Thank You!!

This post is not going to be about our little baby girl, but I will report that she is doing great and weighs a whole pound now PLUS we have past the 1/2 way mark! It has flown by, and I know the 2nd half will fly by even faster! She is going to be a dancer though, she does not stop rolling, kicking, and moving around, that is for sure! We had our "Targeted Ultrasound" appointment on last week and got to see her in 3D!
But I am dedicating this post to my amazing family and in laws! Mainly my in laws, but I have had a lot of help the past 2 weeks. Well for all of those that dont know, we own a duplex. We have been living in the basement 1 bedroom apartment for the past 3 years and with a little addition that is on her way, we are now graduating to the upstairs portion of the house. Its a bit bigger, with 3 bedrooms and a normal sized kitchen, but needless to say I have been waiting 3 years for this! We have been doing a ton of reno's the past 3 years to the basement, yard, exterior, etc, so now we have finally kicked out our renters, we are able to do a little renovation on the upstairs. We are not doing too much to it, our main renovations this year are going to be new windows for the up stairs, and that is going to cost a pretty penny! But we have been painting, patching holes, and Drew is doing a lot of wiring. So we have been able to be in the upstairs since last Monday, so we have not had much time, but we sure have made a lot of progress the past couple of weeks! And its all thanks to the several crews that have been over here till all hours of the night working hard to get it to my living standards!!
My computer hard drive fried a few weeks ago and it does not recognize my printer any more, so some day when I get that all figured out I will post pictures! But for now, sorry, its all just text!
Here is just one little picture of my little Stella that I just took from the ultrasound picture with my phone. This was the best shot we could get of her face, because she decided to sleep completely folded in half with her toes in her hands at her head. I am telling you she is going to be a dancer!!

The FINAL Say!!

I don't know why this shows up this early, but this was suppose to be posted over 3 years ago, for our daughter, not our son that we are about to have.

At our 15 week appointment, she could not tell for sure and did not want to call it. Plus there was something weird looking about my cervix, so she told me to take it easy and come back in 2 weeks. Well after an excruciating 2 weeks of waiting to find out what the gender of our beautiful little baby, my Midwife finaly came to an official say... After a blessing and many prayers and literally taking it easy (which is hard for me to do) my cervix was looking much better and she told me not to worry any more. Thank goodness I dont have anything drastically wrong, I dont think I could handle bed rest. I am a very busy person and I love being outside, if I had to lay around all day, I would probably have to be put on some anti-crazy pills! Plus I finally gained 3 pounds! My Midwife told me I should have gained at least 8-10 pounds by 20 weeks, so she was a little pleased that I had actually gained a few pounds. So finally at the end of our appointment she finally decided to tell us what it is.. So our healthy little baby is a .....
GIRL!!!!!
So THANKS all those who were thinking Pink and wearing Pink, must have paid off. Or maybe it was just the genetics of it all, but I dont care. We are hopefully will have our little baby Estella in our arms about the first part of December and life just could not be better! I think it would have been fun to have an older brother, but for as girly girl as I am, this little one is going to be spoiled rotten!! Well she already is, but thats ok right? So I am going to attempt to post the video of my last appointment.. I have never posted a video on here, so I guess here it goes. Maybe some day I will put up a couple bump shots since it has finally made an appearance!
Here is Baby Estella...
Sike! I could not get the video to upload. Sorry!

Oh How I Miss You!!!!

So not that I have anything to complain about, I have had a great pregnancy so far. But I would just like to make a tribute to some of the things that I will miss for the next 6 months...

One of my most favorite fast food places is Jimmy Johns.

If I could eat it every day I would. The #12 (Beach Club) with extra avocado on wheat... Holy Great Mother Of Pearl it is like HEAVEN!!!!!! This is probably one of the hardest things to give up, other than my addiction to Pepsi.

And that is sad that Jimmy Johns top's Pepsi.

Another thing that I am going to miss very much is my 7 eleven's

Big Bite's and Slurpee!!!

I do thank my mother for the pepsi and 7 eleven addictions. All those beach trips to Siesta Key, you have to have your Big Gulp mug full of Pepsi or Slurpee and a Big Bite and chips to snack on while your relaxing at the beach. Oh how I miss those days!!

Oh Well, I guess its the price I have to pay to have a healthy baby (boy???). We went to our 2nd appointment last night and my Midwife was not positive, but she thinks its a boy. Dang it! I am so hoping for a girl, but there still is hope!! She is not 100% positive. It is only 11 weeks old, so it is a little early to tell. But she will be able to give us the for sure next month. Here are pictures from our 1st ultrasound..
.

Here are a few latest of our baby!

Its a little dark, but it is waving. Well she/he had their had up by their face. It was cute! Kinda still looks like an alien, but at least its better than a jelly bean! It is so cool to see the transformation and to think that it is inside of me... its just CRAZY!!!

Side profile of my little "Rug Rat"!

Well, there you go y'all. We dont get to see our little one for another month, so again the waiting game!!
Until next time!
