Oh How I Miss You!!!!

So not that I have anything to complain about, I have had a great pregnancy so far. But I would just like to make a tribute to some of the things that I will miss for the next 6 months...

One of my most favorite fast food places is Jimmy Johns.

If I could eat it every day I would. The #12 (Beach Club) with extra avocado on wheat... Holy Great Mother Of Pearl it is like HEAVEN!!!!!! This is probably one of the hardest things to give up, other than my addiction to Pepsi.

And that is sad that Jimmy Johns top's Pepsi.

Another thing that I am going to miss very much is my 7 eleven's

Big Bite's and Slurpee!!!

I do thank my mother for the pepsi and 7 eleven addictions. All those beach trips to Siesta Key, you have to have your Big Gulp mug full of Pepsi or Slurpee and a Big Bite and chips to snack on while your relaxing at the beach. Oh how I miss those days!!

Oh Well, I guess its the price I have to pay to have a healthy baby (boy???). We went to our 2nd appointment last night and my Midwife was not positive, but she thinks its a boy. Dang it! I am so hoping for a girl, but there still is hope!! She is not 100% positive. It is only 11 weeks old, so it is a little early to tell. But she will be able to give us the for sure next month. Here are pictures from our 1st ultrasound..
.

Here are a few latest of our baby!

Its a little dark, but it is waving. Well she/he had their had up by their face. It was cute! Kinda still looks like an alien, but at least its better than a jelly bean! It is so cool to see the transformation and to think that it is inside of me... its just CRAZY!!!

Side profile of my little "Rug Rat"!

Well, there you go y'all. We dont get to see our little one for another month, so again the waiting game!!
Until next time!

good so far..

Well it has been a very busy couple of weeks! Well my mom flew out for about a week right before mothers day. We surprised her with a mothers day card and told her the good news. I hope she had a good vacation, but I kept her busy! We bought a glider rocker off ksl.com (like craigs list) for $30 a few years ago and so my mom sanded and painted the chair and then reupholstered the fabric on it. It is so adorable now!! It matches the nursery set perfectly! I cannot wait to get it into the room with all the furniture and get it all set up! Well hopefully our lovely renters will be out by the end of the month so I can get to painting and fixing up the upstairs! Oh man, that will be the day, and I believe a PARTY will be in order when that day finally does come!
Well a couple of days right before my mom left I got fired from my job. I know it sounds terrible, I hate the fact that I have actually been fired from a job. Trust me, I feel like a failure for letting it come to this. Now dont judge, I did not do anything illegal. But it was a stressful job and way too far away. I was going to quit after I had the kid anyways just because I am going to work part time, hoping that Drew will get a decent paying job after he gets his degree! Oh well, if anything it is a relief that I was let go! No more traveling 3 hours to work every day! Such a waist of time. I really was not worried at all that I did not have a job. I had a few days extra that I got to spend with my mom, which was fantastic! But I know that the Lord works in mysterious ways and that everything happens for a reason! I was not upset really at all, yes it was a shock to think about being jobless, but I know that the Lord will help us with what ever hurdles he throws at us!
It was a little over a week of unemployment and I am back to work. It does not pay very well, especially for having a degree, but oh well! It is only a 15 minute drive to work and I only have to work 4 days a week! Although it is 4, 10 hour shifts, it will be nice to have the weekends off and then an extra day off during the week to get things done! It has been my 2nd day on the job and although we (me and my kid) are exhausted, we just need to get use to working 10 hour days! I love the job, once I get things all set up for, hopefully a busy weekend, then I think I wont have to work so hard. I am working at a garden center and greenhouse, and I have been moving all of the annuals out of the greenhouse by hand and setting up displays for the weekend. Its a little ma and pa owned shop, but I hope it will be promising. I hope I can help his business and sell those plants!!
Well an update... I am almost finished with my first trimester and I have not thrown up once! Oh I am so glad I got my mothers genes!!! The only thing that I really have not liken was being hungry all the time the first 8 weeks or so. Now it is not too bad, I have to eat a few snacks here and there, but it is not as bad as the first few weeks! I had a dream a few nights ago.. no one knows about it, I have just written it in my journal, and that is about it. But it was a precious moment that I had with my son. Yup I dreamed about a boy. Oh gosh I so hope and pray that it is a girl! It would be perfect to have a girl! But the decision has already been made, I just have to wait a few more weeks to find out! But things are going on smoothly. I toss and turn at night and my underwear's waist band tend to bug me at night. But other than that, I dont really have a bell yet, thank goodness! Well until next time!

10 weeks down! 30 more weeks to go!

Its Official

Well y'all it has finally become official. My eggo is preggo! Yup that is right, we have a little one on the way that should be here about December 9, 2010! What a perfect Christmas/Thanksgiving/Drew's Graduation present ever! It is going to be a busy busy year but we are so excited for this new adventure in our lives! Everything has been great so far! I have nothing to complain about, other than I am hungry ALL THE TIME! I am so grateful that I have not had any morning sickness or sickness at all. Other than when I do not eat! And I pray it stays that way. We were able to tell our mothers in person with an early Mothers Day Card that I made a couple of days ago. My mom flew out to help me get my house together (drapes, pillows, paint, etc) It was so perfect! Neither my mom or Drew's mom even suspected it! Their reactions were priceless! My mom cried, Marsha just looked shocked. But it was a perfect evening and the cards turned out great!
It still has not really set in yet, I think once I get fat I may have a change of emotions about it. But in the mean time, I hope that the weight will hold of for as long as possible!

I know that it is too early to tell, but I am dying to know the gender! The Chinese calendar says we are having a boy, and I did the whole Drano crystals thing and it turned out green, which means its a girl. I am hoping it is a little girl, who doesn't, but either way it will be so much fun! So as always, we will just have to play the waiting game. Has anyone had experience with the Chinese calendar, if so was it right? I have googled it to see if it has worked for some people. But it is a 50-50% chance, so the odds are pretty high... I guess.
Well I am so excited! My mom came out here to help me with my family room and ended up helping me with not only my family room but we started working on the nursery too! I am so excited to get everything ready. I love being prepared, so knowing me I will have everything set up months before the baby even comes!

8 weeks down, another
30 some odd weeks left! Seems like forever!

moving!!!

Well for those of you who do not know Drew and I own a house in Roy, Utah that is a duplex. We currently live in the one bedroom basement apartment and we have renters that live upstairs. I am not going to lie I really hate having to deal with renters, I would not suggest to any one to buy a duplex. Going to school, working, and trying to deal with renters that are a pain in the butt can be just a tad stressful! So after owning the house and living in the basement for 3 years now, we have finally decided we are going to move upstairs! I know it is not that big of a move, but you have no idea now excited I am to have room for all of our stuff! My poor couch (we have only been using the love seat) is still sitting in storage since we got it 3 years ago, collecting dust and who knows what else!? Now we will have an office/spare bedroom and then eventually a nursery! Plus I will have to get use to a normal sized kitchen, not closet for a kitchen, which should not be hard! I just hope and pray that the renters do not give us crap and move out by the end of the 30 days.

My "Momma Jean" is flying out at the end of the month. I am so excited! I am hoping that we will be able to move some stuff up stairs when she gets out here and she can help me paint and rip down tacky wall paper. She has gotten to be so Martha, not that she has ever stopped, when it comes to decorating. She is obsessed with watching he HGTV design shows and trying to modernize her house. She has gotten pretty good at sanding and staining furniture, so I am going to put her to work when she gets out here. I bought a glider rocking chair I bought off KSL ( kind of like craigs list but just for Utah) for $30 that is in great condition, I just want to sand it down and stain it a darker color and reupholster the pads to a little more modern and not 90's mauve! Plus I got a free oak table I need sanded and stained because it has a few nicks and dings in it. And we got a free chase lounge that we are going to make a slip cover for. And a few other pieces that need a little paint too. I am telling you, I am going to keep her busy! We just need to hurry up and move upstairs already so I have a place to put all of this, instead of my garage and shed!
Plus Mothers day is coming up soon and I know I am not a mother, but I am so excited for it!!!
And most important WARM WEATHER!!!!! Oh I am so ready for it!
Well until next time, maybe I will have a little more exciting news, not just moving upstairs!

Masters??

I have been toying with the idea of going back to school to get my masters. Last summer at one of our BBQ's, I was talking with my aunt Amy and my Grams about teaching school. At that point in time I was so sick of my boss I would do anything to get away from him. So I took on the idea of teaching. I thought it was a good idea, I mean I worked with teenagers just about every day, so how hard could it be teaching them right? Since I already have a degree, and teachers for some strange reason, are in short supply these days, most school districts will hire you on and you basically team teach while the district sends you back to school to get your teaching license. My cousins husband applied and got a job, so how hard could it be? Well I applied, and thank goodness I did not get a call because I landed myself the best job! I work at the University of Utah as the Biology dept's Research Greenhouses Coordinator. I absolutely love my job! There are so many wonderful perks to the job, they seem never ending. Finally I get paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, and the medical benefits are amazing! And the best perk of all... 50% off tuition!!!! So now I am going back and toying with the idea of getting my Masters in Education. I think it would be fun to teach a greenhouse/agriculture class to high school students. It is better than teaching math, or english, because they have to take these classes. A greenhouse class is something that they choose, something that they might be interested in. How fun would that be!? I am trying to get in contact with the right people to see what I need to do to apply and if I could even get in the program not having taken any educating classes. I guess I could just go see if there was a class open to teach and then go back and get my license. But what idiot would pass up 50% off tuition. Not this idiot! So I am going to keep on my quest of getting more information about the program! It just all seems so intimidating! I guess I just need to "nut up or shut up" - word from the wise Tallahassee!

Burr

I love having the freedom to be able to express my own opinion!
I woke up at 5:30am this morning, stood outside in the balming 3 degrees for 25 minutes because the train was late, then I had to wait another 15 minutes outside waiting for the bus because the train got us there late. It was just bitter cold morning. I hate it when it is so cold you step outside and it takes the breath right out of you. Plus to top it all off, the heat is all out in my building because the steam pipe busted yesterday. So everyone is walking around with their winter entire because it is so cold inside too. I really would love to live in a place where it is not so blasted cold. I dont understand how people actually like the cold. It is just plain miserable for me. I pile on the layers and it still cannot keep warm.
So please people when I say I hate the cold, dont give me a hard time, I am just stating my own opinion!

Bye Bye Christmas

January is always a sad and depressing time of year for me. You get all finished with Christmas and ringing in the New year and then when it is all over you have to take down all of the decorations. I love the Christmas time of year. If I could have my way I would keep my tree up year around, ok or at least put it up a month early so we can enjoy it a bit longer. But Drew wont let me put it up till after Thanksgiving. Oh well. But January has always seemed a bit depressing, especially since I move out to Utah. Putting away all of the garlands, wreaths, nativities, tree, stockings, and other nic nack decorations and then what? You cannot put up spring decorations because that is still all but 3-4 months away. I love having a white Christmas each year, but after Christmas, I just want warm weather! So this is why I think that it is a depressing time of year. We have just begun the coldest month of the year, typically, and I am already sick of it.
Drew loves this time of year because he gets to spend his weekends with his uncle up on the mountain some where buzzing around on snowmobiles, while I stay inside where it is warm! This is his most favorite time of year. He dreams, and preps all year long for these few months when he gets to fly over frozen lakes going 80-90 miles an hour through the powder. Yes it sounds crazy, and it is crazy. Especially when standing temperature is maybe 10 degrees if your lucky, and then going 80 miles an hour makes it a - something, I dont care its too cold for me!
I will let Drew have his little outings with his uncle and I will wait impatiently inside for the next few months and watch the snow slowly melt away!
Hurry up April!!
